Brendan Stapleton - Artistic Director | Performer

Training at Adam Darius’s Mime Centre London and The Desmond Jones School of Mime & Physical Theatre. Brendan then studied Dance Theatre at the Laban Centre (Trinity Laban).

He has collaborated,  Inspired, Choreographed and Directed leading practitioners in the Commercial and Corporate sectors of the Industry.

Thus working extensively Brendan has performed in the capacity of Actor, Clown, Acrobat, Aerialist, Living Statue, Juggler, Puppeteer, Fire-eater and Dancer.

Feature Films Include:  Santa Claus the Movie, The Muppets Xmas Carol, Bel Ami, Vera Drake and The Wind in the Willows.

On Television he has been seen playing ‘Fred’ the Homepride Man (Showreel) ‘Mr Morton, the Lizard Man’ in Steve Coogan’s Dr Terrible’s House of Horrible and a ‘Yahoo’ in Ted Danson’s  Gullivers Travels.

Performing also in The Paul Daniel’s Magic Show, Hale and Pace, Smith and Jones and the Xmas Specials of both Lenny Henry and The Stanley Baxter Picture Show.

 

Musical and West End experience includes Peter Pan, directed by Richard Digby Day and the Pantomime ‘Babes in the Wood’, Directed by Roy Hudd at Sadlers Wells. 

He was the highly acclaimed ‘Acrobatic Cat’ in Dick Whitington at the New Theatre Hull. This was directed by Peter Purves of ‘Blue Peter’ fame and starred Tommy Cannon and Bobby Ball.

Brendan Stapleton was personally invited by Image Animations to co-ordinate Ape movement on the feature film ‘Tarzan and the Lost City’ for Village Roadshow. 

This was after he created the very first ‘Bluescreen’ Commercial in Europe playing all three Ape Characters for the TCF Bank Chicago United States (see Showreel).

He collaborated as Choreographer for the first Interactive Video Installation in the UK and in Europe. 

 

 

 

Brendan has coached in  Mime Presentation in Germany, Holland and Austria for Mars UK.

He was requested by Endemol to teach to an audience of five million his Mime Workshop in the British Reality Channel 4 TV show ‘Shattered’  is in a non- speaking role.   He was head hunted again by Endemol  for ‘Big Brother 9’ demonstrating mime techniques on its private monitor.

In Europe, Brendan has coached & taught Physical Theatre at Goldsmith University UK and also lectured in Mime & Presentation extensively in Europe.

Attending  The International Dramaturgy Forum at the Moving Academy for Performing Arts(MAPA) in Zagreb, Croatia he was representative of the British Council
